Government Help to Pay Bills is Available

Grants can be obtained, even for paying bills.
Each year, the US government, individual states and private foundations offer billions of dollars in grant money. Unfortunately, most consumers are unaware that such grants are available.
Why Grant Money is Available
The federal government gives various agencies substantial amounts of grant money to pass on to US citizens. However, many people don't bother applying because they think there's too much red tape or that they will not qualify for the grant. In reality, citizens across the nation from all walks of life receive free grant money and similar benefits on a regular basis. Therefore, if you are in need of money, consider this option.
Grants for Cars and Gasoline
For example, Free Gas USA Inc. is a program providing anywhere from $50-$1200 in free gas to the elderly, the disabled and certain low income families. Additionally, some organizations offer low income citizens matching grants, low interest auto loans and even free cars.
Grant Programs and State Assistance
Numerous states assist consumers with bills and debts. Although such programs are not always referred to as grants, they are worth pursuing. There are also charities such as Operation Round Up, which offer grants to help you pay bills.
Personal grants are available as well, for homes, cars, bills and other debts. Personal grant money can even be obtained for travel. Programs of this type have been developed specifically for low income families, the disabled, senior citizens and veterans.
Grant Money is Available for the Following:
•Real Estate Taxes
•Automobiles and Gas
•Consumer Credit Card Bills
The main institution offering grants to the disabled is the Social Security Administration. Studies show that approximately 20% of the population file for some kind of disability at some point in life. This assistance may include SSDI, medical care grants, SSI and veterans compensation.
Most utility companies provide some type of crisis grants to clients. Sometimes a local non-profit agency runs the energy company's grant program.
Housing and Food Programs
Each year grants are dispersed by the federal government to nonprofit, local charities as part of an Emergency Food and Shelter Program–ESFP. Although the program's scope is limited, when available, such funds can be used for various needs, including shelter, food, moving costs and security deposits.
Grants for Union Members
Many unions provide addition grants for members for various purposes, such as bill paying, or rent and mortgages. One such program is called Union Plus.
Grants for Businesses
If you are considering starting or expanding a business, look into the government's largest grant programs, where free money is available to start or expand a business, as well as pay off debt.
Things are often unpredictable when the economy is slow and greater economic development is needed in all states. During such times, the federal government often grants money to those willing to start their own businesses. Interestingly, businesses such as Apple, Compaq, FedEx, Amazon, Nike and Intel all received grant assistance in their fledgling stage.
Traditionally, the United States government understands the importance of small businesses to a thriving economy, and as a result, low-interest loans and grants are available to help new businesses start and maintain their endeavors. There are even certain programs that offer interest-free loans. Some of the programs available cover the following expenses:
•Start-up and Expansion Expenses
•Equipment Loan Financing
Grants for Veterans and Military Service
The Military Homeowner Assistance program helps those who have served in the military, and can often prevent foreclosure. In addition, such programs offer move-in assistance and housing aid. Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program helps veterans and their families with rent assistance, eviction prevention, security deposits and rental assistance. Educational grants are also available to military members and their spouses. This is because the organizations recognize that it can be difficult to improve job skills if you are deployed at regular intervals.
Both the state and federal governments want a technology oriented, educated country. For this reason, help is available for you to find the best guaranteed loans, low or no interest loans, grants and scholarships.
